Okay, who has been to Saltspring Island? We went to Salt Spring Island last Monday-Tuesday, and it was wonderful!! Weflew a de Havilland Beaver from Downtown Van-city, and it took 30 min.The plane ride there was smooth like butta, the flight back was aleeetle choppier. I felt very at ease though. It was a 6 seater. Ourpilot was so close, of course all the instruments were monitored byme. I know it sounds juvenile, but I actually haven't flown in anaircraft this small before. It was such a new experience. I reallyenjoyed the flight, what a beautiful way to see the city. We shouldreally do it next time you come. And SSI was magnificent. For sure, wewill stay at the Seabreeze Inne. I felt so transported to a differentplace. It was a fantastic little resort town called Ganges (lower andupper designations no less) that we stayed in. There were the usualMexican breakfast place, local soap company, handmade jewellery shops, historic hardware store exhibits, and chocolate making shop, divine bythe way!! Oh, and don't tell Mom or she'll want to go this instant, they have like 3 used bookshops per capita. I've never seen so manycollectible vintage book stores in one place before. I guess that'swhat SSIers do.That and make soap. I definitely took a page out oftheir book (pun intended) and bit a chunk out of my Agatha Christie. If I was made of money though, I would have bought up half the farein those book stores. Our pilot on the way there was named Gary. So, you can understand why it felt so reassuring!
